February Inspo
It’s February and we’re looking at paint. Here are three easy and inexpensive trends we’re into this month.
PAINT THE CEILING
We’re not talking Sistine Chapel (though if you’re going for a 16th Century High Renaissance look, power to ya). But a fresh color on the ceiling will add the pop you’ve been missing out on your whole life. Get creative and continue the color down the walls like in our
2017 Parade of Homes entry.
STRIPE THE WALLS
Is a single color not scratching your aesthetic itch? How about patterned walls? For a nuanced subtlety, go with a muted tone-on-tone striped look like in our
2015 Parade of Homes winner. Not vibrant enough for you? Use contrasting colors for an even bolder look. And if stripes are still too safe, try other patterns like chevrons, gingham, harlequin, or argyle.
PANEL THE WALLS
New paint is the obvious choice, but if you want to make a change that has real substance, paneling your walls is the way to go. The owner’s retreat in the 2017 Parade of Homes added a real textural beauty with these rich panels lining its walls. We inexpensively created this look by installing trim pieces and painting both the trim and wall.
