Meet Our Team: Architectural Design Manager Mike Doyle
We want you to get to know Bielinski Homes better, not only as home builders but as people. So, read on to learn more about Architectural Design Manager, Mike Doyle.
WHAT’S YOUR DAY-TO-DAY?
Every day is different and calls for different hats to be worn. Some days are spent designing new architectural plans. Some are spent drawing RediHomes® or customer plans. I review plans for accuracy and make corrections. I review surveys to assess how homes fit into the contours of a lot. I field calls from building inspectors, field managers, and subcontractors when they have questions, concerns, or clarification.
The only thing that I do every single day is look for ways to improve the Architectural Design Department, in both efficiency and accuracy.
HOW DID YOU GET INTO HOME BUILDING?
Ever since I was a kid, I wanted to design buildings. When I first started in the design field, I spent a number of years doing commercial buildings and decided it wasn’t for me.
I wanted to get into residential design, so I applied for a drafting position at Bielinski Homes. I knew pretty quickly that this is what I wanted to do for the rest of my life. Many things have changed over the years, but I still love working in this field.
WHAT’S YOUR HISTORY WITH BIELINSKI?
I got that drafting position 16 years ago, and have been with Bielinski Homes ever since. I enjoy the challenges and variety of the day-to-day operations. I enjoy designing and drafting plans, and everything else that goes into it. I pretty much enjoy it all.
I especially enjoy being able to work with the talented staff at Bielinski Homes, and being able to soak up knowledge from them. Much of the staff here have been doing this for a very long time, so there is a wealth of knowledge to tap into.
