Decisions, Decisions!
By Rebecca Wardon
Building and designing a
new home can seem like tough decision after tough decision after tough decision. As a design expert, here are three ways I help our customers maneuver through the sea of choices.
1. WHAT’S YOUR STYLE?
The best way to start making design decisions is by defining the design elements you love. I often begin by asking you to share inspiration. Pictures from magazines, photos of a friend’s home,
Pinterest boards, patterns, colors, furniture, and textures are all great tools to help us figure out which style speaks to you.
With this information, we talk can discuss options and really hit upon the style direction you want to take in your new home. So when it comes time to make those tough decisions, we’ll stick to the path we’ve already laid out.
2. TIMELESS VS. MODERN
Sometimes a decision is less about the aesthetics, and more about practicality. In the ever-changing world of design, looks come and go. Sure this is great now, but is it a style that’s going to last?
Some folks are totally fine with updating their homes more often than others, and then I recommend something more trendy. But if you want today’s choices to look just as great a decade from now, I’ll steer you towards more timeless styles.
3. BIELINSKI DESIGN STUDIO
I’m always hearing from our customers that the
Bielinski Design Studio made their home building process so much easier. The best thing about the Design Studio is that you can compare different materials as well as see how a whole room will work together. Lay out an entire room right in front of your eyes, from flooring, cabinets, and countertops to hardware and fixtures.
Taking the worry out of the decision-making process so you feel confident with your choices and love your new home is always my goal.
