Accounting Specialist

Job description

We are seeking an on-site bookkeeper/accounting associate to become an integral part of our growing property management, real estate development, & investment company! You will work closely with a dedicated team of long-time employees and directly with company owners to ensure the highest professional standards, providing great properties and experiences for our commercial and residential tenants.


· Accounts payable function include: Sort, code, and enter invoices into multiple accounting programs for multiple entities
· Perform general ledger reconciliation and account analysis
· Reconcile monthly bank statements
· Prepare and process journal entries for multiple entities
· Conduct general ledger accounting and maintain accurate financial records
· Prepare reports that summarize and forecast company business activity and financial position in areas of income, expenses, and earnings based on past present and expected operations
· Calculate and maintain amortization and depreciation schedules
· Prepare annual 1099’s
· Update and maintain fixed asset lists, including using the FAS system
· Manage tenants’ accounts, including preparing daily deposits, recording payments, reconciling termination accounts, and compiling security deposit reconciliation
· Process payments, mail, and file appropriate paperwork pertaining to invoices
· Process all 5-day notices & charges accounts for late charges
· Work with tenants accounts to collect past due balances and make arrangements for collection
· Prepare monthly occupancy reports
· Maintain the highest level of confidentiality
· Track company credit card disbursements and make monthly payments


· Minimum of 2 years of experience in accounting or related field
· Strong knowledge of financial concepts and GAAP principles
· Proficient in general ledger accounting and account reconciliation
· Familiarity with double-entry bookkeeping principle
· Experience with balance sheet reconciliation is a plus
· Proficient in using accounting software and MS Office Suite (Excel, Word)
· Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and analysis
· Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks effectively
