Job Summary:

The Drafter I is responsible for providing drafting support to produce system installation drawings, including floor plans and details, using AutoCAD for our residential housing projects. The position may also work on larger projects with greater complexity as needed and able. The Drafter I also delivers assigned projects effectively and within budgeted cost and time schedules with guidance as needed.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Prepare system installation drawings from engineered documentation under direct supervision of the Designer for construction or permit. Refer more complex issues to higher level colleagues.
  • Assemble drawing package sets for submittal or permit; work on routine to moderately complex drawing package sets and data sheets.
  • Review your own drawings for quality and accuracy.
  • Print, run copies, distribute shop drawings/close-out documents to different departments/clients, as necessary.
  • Complete assigned drawings on time and within budget.
  • Assist colleagues with drafting support as requested or required.
  • Assist the Designer and/or Project Manager with any project drawing modifications.
  • Organize/maintain project folders and drawings.
  • Maintain plotter, paper, and toner replacement.
  • Update project schedule daily.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as requested or required.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Basic knowledge of general AutoCAD commands such as layers, xrefs, dimensioning, and 3D skills.
  • Skill in reading and understanding architectural and electrical layouts and diagrams
  • Knowledge of electrical/electron theory and components
  • Provide exceptional customer focus and ability to work under pressure; ability to meet and anticipate customer needs without being prompted.
  • Good verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Basic organization skills and ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Basic computer skills including exposure to MS Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel)

Education and Experience:

High school diploma or equivalent.
Associate of Applied Science Degree (A.A.S) preferred.
Previous drafting experience preferred.
Certificate preferred.

Hours: 8am – 5pm, Monday – Friday. Flexible hours are granted on a case-by-case basis.

Location: In-person at our office located in Pewaukee, WI
