Sounds Like Home

Home is more than just a place. It’s the people you surround yourself with, the memories you create with others — a feeling.Bielinski Homes wants to encapsulate every meaning of the word “home,” so our team has put together a playlist of songs that sound like home to us. Here are eight of the tracks that bring us all a little closer to home.

Track 1: “Family Reunion” by Jill Scott

“Our House” is popular amongst our team members here. What draws people in is how the lyrics paint a cozy portrait within the first line of “I’ll light the fire.” According to Senior Maintenance Technician Karl Aschenbrenner, “Our House” reminds him of sitting by a bonfire with friends and family while enjoying the weekend. While Sales Manager Michael Cellini can vividly picture sitting around a fireplace with his family.

Track 3: “Mama, I’m Coming Home” by Ozzy Osbourne

Ozzy Osbourne’s 1991 hit brings back memories for Construction Manager Shawn Clendenning. He said, “This reminds me of the first house I bought with my wife, Tammie, and when we started our family.”This is one of three songs Clendenning suggested that has a tie to his children. All of which bring back the memories of celebrating his sons by dancing and singing in the living room.

Track 4: “Take Me Home” by Phil Collins

This tune is all about how home is somewhere people long to be, and it is one that brought tears to Controller Lisa Reimer’s eyes when she heard Phil Collins belting it live in an arena full of people. “It was the last song he sang, and at that beautiful moment, I thought I may never see him again,” Reimer said. It’s this glorious moment that cemented “Take Me Home” in her heart, forever reminding her of home.

Track 5: “Our House” by Madness

“If you’ve got kids, the home in this song is your home,” said Application Architect Amy Holzinger. Madness really captured the feeling of a chaotic but genuine home life. By mixing the lyrics with a fun beat and a catchy chorus, the song rings true to life: there is love amongst the mayhem.

Track 6: “The Long and Winding Road” by The Beatles

Melancholic but beautiful, “The Long and Winding Road” is all about returning home to the one you love most. After a long journey, a short trip away, or a strenuous week at work, there is nothing quite as soothing as coming back home to the place you feel most comfortable, safe, and loved.

Track 7: “Home to Me” by Josh Kelley

The message behind “Home to Me” is that home is wherever you are with the people you love. Home isn’t always a physical place, instead, it can be the people who you love the most. This ditty makes Executive Administrative Assistant Leah Busse think of the “love of her life” — her dog, Vida.
