How to Start Winter in Style

Seasonal change calls for an update to your interior design style. But there’s no reason it has to be a big deal. Here are three easy ways to embrace the weather and style for winter.

TEXTURES

I don’t know about you, but when the weather starts getting colder, my home needs to get cozier. One way I achieve that is by updating different materials around my house to suit the times. Chunky blankets, flannel bedding, basically anything thick and heavy. You can easily bring these textures and materials into almost every room in the home with pillowcases, rugs, and throw blankets.

COLORS

It might be your first instinct to meet cold times with cool colors, but I like to bring warmth into the home when the mercury drops. This year we’ve seen a lot of natural tones becoming popular, but now instead of lush greens, I’ll go with warm browns, burnt oranges, and mustard yellows.

DECOR

Here’s a style trend that perfectly combines what I’ve mentioned above: dried oranges. These winter fruits can bring both the warm colors and textures perfect for making a home feel cozy. And it can also be a fun DIY project on a crisp Sunday!
